Faith-based Organization -

Group Coaching Program

Faith-based Organizations join together virtually to address the Housing Crisis, Evictions, and Homelessness - Collaboratively!

How does my participation in the Group Coaching Program benefit my community’s efforts to reduce homelessness?

As a participant in the “Faith-based Organization - Group Coaching Program” you’ll be tapping into the collective wisdom of organizations nationwide that have already established replicable programs and plans of action we call “Practical Assists” that have already proven to be successful.

  • Through the implementation of these or other activities developed during the program, your community will reduce homelessness by:

  • Lowering the number of people living on the street

  • Preventing evictions before they occur

  • Maximizing the utilization of preexisting assets and resources,

  • Supporting seniors as they choose to age in place,

  • Providing services to help individuals with disabilities to live independently,

  • Housing a repository of information where resources are available to access and/or share

  • and much more!

How does our faith community or coalition put these into practice?

Working in teams, you and other organizations focused upon the same program will develop a customized plan of action to be implemented by your organization and others you invite to volunteer from among your community.

Examples of programs and topics:

  • Addressing the needs of vulnerable, immigrant & refugee populations

  • Volunteering to support eviction diversion or rental assistance programs

  • Safe Parking Programs (Car Camping in church parking lots)

  • Secure Storage Programs

  • Helping with Moves & Evictions

  • Laundry Angels

  • Increasing Housing Supply by Adding Tiny Houses to Church Properties

  • Supporting Neighborhood Ownership Programs

  • Advocating for Policy Changes to Address Underlying Causes

  • Direct those in need to Pro-Bono Legal Services

  • Providing “Moving” support

How does it benefit my organization to participate in this Group Coaching Program?

Gain access to knowledge and training not available elsewhere at a very low cost per organization when sharing costs across a community.

Benefits include:

  • Participation will save countless hours that would otherwise be spent gathering and organizing information individually or that would be spent by coalitions reinventing the wheel.

  • You’ll see and innovate solutions your faith-based organization will incorporate into its efforts to reduce homelessness.

  • Participants join web meetings to discuss and learn how the specific programs and activities that participating communities are addressing, can potentially be integrated into your community or adopted by your organization. (Your input can help to define and refine the content for yourself and others.)

  • Receive valuable group coaching by Bill Barberg and/or other facilitators who will answer your questions. Plus you’ll listen in while coaches respond to questions asked by other participants.

  • You’ll have full access to the 2-Hour overview course on “Implementing Community Strategies” (to share the information with others in your organization)

  • Gain exclusive, individualized access to the Thinkific eLearning Homelessness Resource Commons (HRC).

  • Enjoy recognition as an early contributor to the development of an outstanding resource others will; leverage to reduce homelessness in all parts of the country.

  • Equip your community to accelerate the launching of an additional broader set of actions to reduce homelessness,

  • Where and when applicable, participants can improve the odds of being awarded grants and other funding by being able to demonstrate an “advanced system thinking” approach to reducing homelessness in your community.
