Strategy-Aligned Research to Accelerate Dementia Prevention and Care
Now Available On Demand
Strategy-Aligned Research (SAR) is an approach to aligning and accelerating the research efforts of many different organizations to achieve greater progress on social impact that the researchers and research funders are seeking to have. SAR was pioneered in Engineering Research Centers funded in the U.S. by the National Science Foundation, but the approach is being adopted to align and improve the impact of social science research related to reducing gender-based violence and family adversity in Canada and other topics.
This webinar will introduce how SAR is aligning research findings related to strategies for ADRD prevention and caregiving. The focus is on non-pharma interventions which often don't get the level of funding that goes into pharma-centered research.

Leading Social Transformations: Creative Public Value and Advancing the Common Good
Using the Power of AI to Detect Dementia and Improve Caregiving
Now Available On Demand
The accelerating increase in people living with dementia is rapidly outstripping the capabilities of most regions to properly care for them. Fortunately, there are ways that economically scalable technologies can help us better address this extraordinary challenge. This webinar will share encouraging ways that AI technology can help with earlier and more economical detection of Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia. With earlier detection, many interventions—both medications and non-pharma interventions—can have a greater success in extending the time when a person can enjoy life with fewer of the debilitating symptoms that grow worse as the disease progresses. The webinar will also share two examples of promising high-impact, low-cost strategies that can significantly enhance the care of people living with dementia in both in-home and congregate living settings.

Improve Collective Impact - Keys to Engagement, Alignment, and Results
Now On Demand
It is increasingly clear that most of the complex challenges faced by states and communities cannot be solved with isolated programs or policies. The concept of Collective Impact makes sense, and many coalitions have embraced the concept. But it is easier said than done. Most of the practices, tools, funding models, and training that people and organizations use are based on traditional approaches to working in silos--seeking funding and credit for your individual organization or program.
For the past several years, InsightFormation has been a leader in advancing techniques, tools, and approaches that are designed to improve the development of collaborative strategies and community teamwork. This webinar shares some of those key practices and how cross-sector coalitions can adopt these practices to make collective impact a reality.

The agenda on this day will feature several new presentations, two live panel discussions, and a repeat of one of the sessions from August 11 and another from August 12. Details about how to attend for free will be covered as well. The Virtual Summit was just the beginning of how we will share this powerful information to help communities address the short-term crisis in ways that align with a long-term strategy that addresses the larger underlying resistance.

The Peril
Due to Covid-19, millions are behind in rent or mortgage payments. Cities, and rural areas, are filled with people under DEEP financial stress. There is a minimal cushion, but dire consequences. Landlords too are in difficult times, especially small-scale property owners who purchased houses as investment properties. Unable to collect rent, their inability to make mortgage payments places them at risk of foreclosure. Meanwhile, financial institutions fear loans will default resulting in them holding countless properties no one can afford to live in.
The Urgency
Community leaders can’t spend months and years talking, responding correctly NOW, is paramount. Successful communities will have acted boldly by rapidly implementing sound plans & policies to minimize the damage of what is being called the "COVID-19 Housing Apocalypse".
The Solution
Five Elements of a Rapid Response for Communities: After spending months scanning the globe to find promising innovations to support increases in naturally affordable housing, the team working on the virtual summit identified five strategies that communities could embrace to greatly reduce the damage of navigating forward through the crisis.

System Thinking + Strategy Management = Sustainable Solutions - May. 2020
Complex issues like housing insecurity, chronic diseases, addiction, or ACEs are not solved with simple solutions. These “wicked problems” involve such a mix of contributing factors that a strategy to address them needs to address many things in parallel over an extended period of time.
This webinar shares some of the powerful techniques of system thinking and strategy management that can help multi-sector coalitions be more effective in addressing these issues. Many established practices have focused on selecting, implementing, and evaluating isolated interventions. A different set of techniques and tools are better suited for developing and managing large collective impact efforts that require many mutually reinforcing activities over an extended period of time to achieve meaningful success.
These techniques help align, integrate, and enhance existing efforts and help harness existing resources that are often underutilized.

Understanding and Responding to the Condition of Poverty
Presenter Marcella Wilson, Phd, brings a new paradigm of understanding and response, treating poverty as an environmentally based condition and not a character flaw. In her book, “Diagnosis Poverty”, she describes Transition To Success (TTS), which was recognized as a Clinton Global Initiative. TTS promotes the first evidence based standards of care and analytics to directly treat the condition of poverty. By assessing and responding to social determinants of health and holding the existing and funded delivery system accountable, the complex network to support at-risk consumers is harnessed. TTS is a client-centered, community-based, measurable system of care with statistically significant outcomes in 5 independent evaluations.

Five Mistakes Coalitions Can Fix to Maximize Their Drug Disposal Campaigns - Jan. 2020
Most coalitions working to end the opioid crisis have taken some steps to launch or expand prescription drug take-back and disposal efforts. This is good—but most communities are making five significant mistakes that greatly reduce the impact of this important strategy. Given that one of the most important contributors to the opioid crisis is the widespread availability of highly addictive pills that are no longer needed for the prescribed use, improving and expanding drug take-back and disposal strategies should be a priority for coalitions everywhere. This free webinar provides practical advice on how to do that.

Affordable Innovations for Maternal & Child Health and (way) Upstream Prevention
As part of helping communities and healthcare providers better improve health outcomes, the Population Health Learning Collaborative introduces innovative technologies that can be economically deployed as part of strategies to address health and well-being of community members.
October’s webinar features two exciting innovations that can help to address Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) that is so important in helping children succeed in life. These are important upstream interventions that can be done to address health priorities such as disparities in maternal mortality, infant mortality or Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
